“Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks.”
–Plutarch
Like painting, poetry becomes a creative process with a message, it is the act of expressing ideas using rhythm and other literary devices to enhance the art piece. In my opinion, as an art form, the poetry I write exposes tools for knowing and understanding myself. It is in this way that poetry is therapeutic, when I can honestly to the page going deep into myself to reveal my raw emotions. During the process, explore my feelings and attitudes and sometimes I might arrive at the truth for the first time regarding how I had been feeling all along. When I publish these exposed emotions that I paint on the page is entirely left up to me.
